Joyce Sheffield

Joyce Sheffield, 89, of Hattiesburg, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025 at Crescent Landing at Hattiesburg. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with services immediately following at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Coaltown Cemetery.

Mrs. Sheffield was a member of Sandy Run Worship Center. She was previously the co-owner of Florida Fire and Safety and City Fire and Safety for over 30 years before her retirement in 2008. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. In the more recent years, she loved doing crafts and playing Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Edward “C.E.” Sheffield; her parents, Alvin and Ethel Hartfield; and her daughter, Theresia “Kissy” Sheffield.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and JaMés Sheffield; her daughter, Charlene Cole; three grandchildren, Brandy Cole, Payton Sheffield, and Micah Sheffield; three great grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gen Bishop; Judy and Willie Ray Sheffield, B.J. and Linda Barrett, and Larry and Melinda Barrett.
