Joseph T. Toubia, July 23, 1929 – June 16, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph T. Toubia, who departed this life on June 16, 2025 at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut, in the loving arms of his daughter Leila. He was 96 years old.

Born on July 23, 1929 in Lebanon, Joseph was the beloved son of Toufiq and Isabel Toubia. He spent the first half of his life living and working in Lebanon and Israel before migrating to the United States. He settled in Port Chester, NY where he lived from 1965 until his passing. He lived a life rooted in love, faith, and dedication to family and the communities in which he lived throughout his life.

Joseph is survived by his daughter, Leila, son and daughter-in-law Eli and Caudia and their daughter Laila-Rose, and son and daughter in-law Gabe and Viviane and their three sons, Joseph, Joshua, and James. He was predeceased by his wife Rosette and son Peter and has now reunited with them.

Joseph was a man of extraordinary capability and unwavering faith. He was a high school graduate; he taught himself everything he needed to know to become a skilled technician/engineer. He worked for a small, second-tier high-tech company that manufactured parts for the military and defense sector. After retiring in the mid-1990s, the company was sold and moved from southern New York to Pennsylvania. So indispensable were his talents that he was asked to come back from retirement by the new owners. That was the caliber of his skill and work ethic.

At home, Joseph was a master craftsman of every kind—plumber, electrician, carpenter, mechanic, mason. He never called a repairman to the house; he handled it all with expert hands and tireless resolve. His ability to build, repair, and solve was nothing short of remarkable. But above all, Joseph was a man of faith, humility, and moral strength. He was a stern and principled man, raising his children with words that carried the weight of wisdom and expectation. He taught them to respect their elders and to live thoughtfully. He raised his children with wisdom to “use the mind to think, the heart to love, and the soul to guide them through life.” These simple yet profound teachings shaped their lives. He was a blessing to his family.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church (aka St. John Bosco) on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 10 AM. The church is located at 260 Westchester Avenue, Port Chester, NY. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook.
