Gizella Pitner

Gizella Helen (Bolessza) Pitner, 67, of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Paoli Hospital, Paoli.

Born in Chester, PA, Gizella was the daughter of Gizella (Zombori) Horvath and the late Stephen Bolessza. She was the wife of Stanley Robert Pitner. The couple shared 50 years of marriage.

Gizella was a Registered Nurse for more than 47 years, working in a variety of units, including the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Hospice, and Pediatric Homecare. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her loved ones, especially when it came to medical issues.

Gizella enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafting, and animals, especially her German Shepherd, Lady.

In addition to her husband and mother, Gizella is survived by her children: Nathan Pitner of Coatesville and Jessica Slauch, wife of Scott, of Coatesville; grandchild: Vanessa Rose Slauch.

In addition to her father, Gizella was preceded in death by her brother: Stephen Bolessza.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 9:45-10:45 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church: 2835 Manor Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM at the church. Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
