Joseph Prejean

Graveside services were held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. for Joseph Prejean, 94, who died Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 4:44 a.m. surrounded by his loving family.

Rev. Nick Watts, First Baptist Church – Lafayette, will officiate for the service. The burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. “Joe” is survived by his wife of 73 years, Aline Meche Prejean of Crowley; three daughters, Darlene Thibodeaux of Sulphur, Gloria Abshire (Charles) of Crowley, Kim Touchet (Paul) of Crowley; one sister, Verna LeBlanc of Crowley; special granddaughter, Jodi Guillory of Lafayette; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Prejean; three sisters, Yoland Kibodeaux, Dorothy Perry, and Virgie Robinson; two brothers, Lester and Forrest Prejean.

He will be missed by those who called him Honey, Dad, or Paw Paw. The Prejean family would like to thank Dr. Robert Aertker for the care and compassion he gave Joe for 15 years. Lamm Hospice staff for coming along and guiding us through this difficult journey and his sitters, Francis Guidry and Missy Habetz. Special thanks to Missy who made the nights easier.
