In Loving Memory of Jose Luis Magdaleno

09/30/1951 – 08/29/2025

With heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we announce the passing of Jose Luis Magdaleno, loving husband, proud father, cherished grandfather, and lifelong railroader, who departed this life on August 29th, 2025, at the age of 73.

Born and raised in the Catholic faith, with calloused hands and a heart full of purpose, Jose was a man who never shied away from hard work. He spent his life building the tracks that carried countless others forward—rails of steel and sweat that stretched across the land, just as his love stretched across generations. If you ever find yourself beside a railroad track, don’t cry—smile. He helped lay that path, and he walked it with pride.

Jose had a sweet tooth and an even sweeter soul. He believed life was better with dessert—be it a slice of pie or a handful of candy—and that joy, like sugar, was meant to be shared. He passed on his love not only through treats but through time, stories, and a steady presence.

He was the rock of his family—a devoted husband to his beloved Maria, with whom he shared a lifetime of laughter, love, and unwavering companionship. He was a guiding light to his sons, whom he raised to be strong, kind, and humble, and he welcomed their wives like daughters, honoring the love they brought into the family.

To his grandchildren, he was larger than life—quick with a story, a smile, and a sweet tucked into his pocket. He taught them to work hard, to love harder, and to find joy in the little things: a train whistle in the distance, a warm kitchen, a full table.

Jose didn’t just build tracks—he built a legacy. A legacy of love, integrity, and quiet strength. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left the world with memories that will forever be cherished.

So when you hear the sound of a distant train or see tracks stretching toward the horizon, don’t let tears fall. Let your heart rise. Remember the man who helped pave the way—not just across the land, but in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his sons, Jose, Jerry, Alexis, Christopher, and Jesse; his daughters-in-law; his adoring grandchildren; and countless friends and family who were touched by his kindness.

His journey on Earth may be done, but the legacy he left will echo for generations.

Rest easy, Jose Luis Magdaleno. You built the way forward—now it’s your turn to rest.
