Jonathan Hsia

Jonathan Andrew Hsia, 32, of Santa Clara, California, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2025, due to an aortic aneurysm.

Known affectionately as Jonny or Jon, he will always be remembered for his unwavering kindness, boundless sense of humor, deep patience, and unshakeable love for his family, friends, and the dogs who shared his heart.

Born on January 20, 1993, in Mountain View, California, Jonathan was the beloved son of the late Jim Hsia and Eloiza Hsia, and the cherished brother of Jami Hsia Mataele.

He shared a beautiful life and deep partnership with his fiancée, Nichole Alyse Alvey, with whom he was set to marry by the fall of 2026. Together with their four dogs—Timo, Buck, Zadina, and Midge—Jonathan and Nichole built a life filled with laughter, road trips, home-cooked meals, and countless memories.

A proud graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, Jonathan’s dedication and work ethic shone in every endeavor he took on. Among his many accomplishments, he was especially proud of earning the Protection Dog Certification (PDC) with Buck on September 3, 2022. Outside of work, Jon was an avid sports enthusiast, never missing a chance to watch, play, or debate a game of ice hockey, football, or soccer. He also delighted in exploring new coffee spots, attending concerts, visiting local farmers markets, and taking spontaneous road trips.
