Johnnita was born on July 12, 1927, to Roy and Amanda (Knipphals) Babb on the family farm west of Fullerton. She attended a country school and graduated from Fullerton High School in 1945. On August 31, 1946, she married Homer Horn in Hiawatha, Kansas. Later, Johnnita and Homer moved to Primrose Assisted Living in Grand Island, where they lived until Homer’s passing. Afterward, Johnnita returned to Fullerton, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Johnnita had a deep love for gardening and flowers and was a founding member of the Flower Belles in Fullerton. She was a devoted member of the Fullerton Presbyterian Church and later the Fullerton Community Church. In her later years, she enjoyed visiting the family farm and spending time surrounded by the land she loved. She also treasured her friendship with Noni Sprague, with whom she spent many joyful hours. Above all, Johnnita cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.

She is survived by her son, Dan (Karon) Horn of Fullerton; grandchildren, Shannon Belk of Elkhorn, Tanya Horn of Wichita, KS, and Danni Hastings of Grand Island; great-grandson, Mason Hastings of Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer; her parents; grandson-in-law, Mark Belk; and brother, Montelle (Doris) Babb.
