John Sokolik

John Steven Sokolik of Boise passed away on June 16, 2025, at the age of 82 at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Boise. John was born on February 19, 1943, in San Francisco, California to John Joseph and Beatrice Louise Sokolik. John married Sally Ann Sticklin on June 19, 2013, in Meridian, Idaho. John took pride in his career as a Merchant Marine for 42 years. John enjoyed dancing, drinking McDonald’s frappuccinos, playing cards, traveling, and attending Living Hope Bible Church. John was fond of watching the Boise Broncos, the Seattle Seahawks, The Wheel of Fortune, and Golden Girls. John very much loved his little dog, Jazzy. John is survived by his wife Sally Ann Sticklin Sokolik, his brother Richard Sokolik of Sparks, Nevada, his son Michael Sokolik of Omaha, Nebraska, his daughter Bonnie Slack of Bennington, Nebraska, and his two grandchildren Lucas and Joseph. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 2:30 PM, at Living Hope Bible Church. Please consider donating to Living Hope Bible Church in honor of John.
