John Sesing
John J. Sesing, age 81, of Mount Calvary, passed away with his loving family at his side on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at SSM St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born February 22, 1944, to the late Alex & Marie (Dreifuerst) Sesing. John attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1962. John served in the National Guard from October 16, 1964 until July 17, 1970.
On October 4, 1969, he married Mary Brill at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg.
John was employed for 40 years at Feldner Chevrolet in St. Cloud. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, a member of the St. Cloud Volunteer Fire Department for 5 years followed by the Mount Calvary Volunteer Fire Department for 34 years. He was an ambulance driver with Mount Calvary EMS for 36 years and was a member and director with Riverside Hunting & Fishing Club.
John enjoyed breakfast with the Friday morning gang, hunting, fishing, working in his auto/body shop, spending time in his woods cutting up trees and just touring through it on his four-wheeler. Many hours were spent swinging on his seat at the cottage on Lake Winnebago. Time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, was what he cherished the most.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; his two sons, Craig (Kim) Sesing of Malone “Johnsburg” and Kevin (Stacey) Sesing of Mount Calvary; six grandchildren, Jonathan Sesing (special friend, Maria), Jenna Sesing, Jacob Sesing, Jacey Sesing, Ashton Ruedinger (special friend, Anna), and Christian Kraus; his brothers & sisters, Judy Lohse, Mary (George) Miller, Joe (Audrey) Sesing, Joan Sesing Lenz (special friend, Paul), Kay Sesing, and Ted Sesing; his brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Lloyd Klapperich, Mark (Kelly) Haensgen, Marcia Moon, Jane (Jerrold) Steffes, and Janet (Gary) Buechel. He is further survived by numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Preceding him in death were his son, Corey Sesing; his parents, Alex & Marie Sesing; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Sesing; two sisters, Sue Klapperich & LuAnn Haensgen; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Floyd Sr. & Lorraine Brill; and three brothers-in-law, Floyd Brill Jr, Bill Brill, and Donald Moon.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holyland Parish-Holy Cross Site, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Paul Koenig, OFM cap will officiate. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with John’s family at the church in Mount Calvary on Tuesday, June 10th from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to benefit local organizations.
John’s family expresses their sincere appreciation to the Mount Calvary EMS and the staff at SSM St. Agnes Emergency Department, ICU, and 5West/lPR including the Therapy teams for their care given to him for the past several months.
