John Schadek

John Schadek, 64, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully but quite unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, John attended St. Peter’s High School and graduated from Bowling Green State University. He went on to launch several successful Real Estate publications in both Ohio and Southern California.

With a wicked sense of humor and a compassionate personality he was always fun to be around and the life of the party. He loved horse racing (his dad taught him all he knew) and loved to travel. His favorite places to visit were Ft. Lauderdale and Las Vegas. He was also an avid sports fan and loved the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns in particular. His true love was his family and his dogs. He was always there for everyone and took care of his mother in her final years.

John is preceded in death by his father, Paul Schadek, mother Kathleen Schadek, sister Mary (Nelson) Logan and his beloved dog Maggie. He is survived by his daughter Brittany Brocklesby; sister Linda; brothers, Paul Jr. (Joyce); Joe; Mike (Debbie), many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews plus his adored dog Sammy.

Receiving will be on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. with words of remembrance at 5:45 p.m. at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue W, Mansfield, OH 44902.

A Celebration of Life and a burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbus Humane Society or Humane Society of Richland County.
