John Henderson
John W. Henderson, 86, of Konnarock, VA passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, TN. He was born in Konnarock, VA on July 2, 1938, a son of the late Oscar and Mamie Henderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Presley Sky Henderson; five sisters, Ann Skillman, Ruth Fedor, Alice Shepherd, Sharon “Sherry” Klapp, and Katherine “Kitty” Sanders; and three brothers, Oscar “June” Henderson, Jr., Robert “Bob” Henderson, and Gerald “Jerry” Henderson.
He made his home in Konnarock, VA and had lived in Manassas, VA for most of his life. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was very proud of his grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them and the rest of his family.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol Henderson; one daughter, Sandi Henderson (Wayne); one son, Herbert Henderson (Carol); three grandchildren, Amanda Henderson, Matthew Henderson (Katie), and Kimberly Gibson (Timothy); one great granddaughter, Audrey Henderson, and a great grandson, Colter John, expecting on the way; one sister, Karen Davenport (Allen); three brothers, William “Bill” Henderson (Sharyn), Roger “Dupe” Henderson (Shirley), and Danny Henderson (Mary Sue); a sister-in-law, Kaye Henderson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm Monday, April 14, 2025 at Azen Baptist Church in Konnarock, VA. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm Monday at the church with Pastor Robert Blevins officiating. The committal service and interment will follow at Azen Cemetery.
