Joe Davis Wilcox Sr., 90, of Charleston, MS, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025. He was born on January 5, 1935, in Winona, MS.

Joe Davis was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he honorably served in a MASH unit during the Korean War. After his military service, he devoted 43 years to Tallahatchie General Hospital, where he was widely respected for his exceptional work ethic as a Radiology Technologist. He was married for 69 years to his devoted wife, Nelda Rose Denley Wilcox. Together, they built a beautiful family, whom he cherished deeply.

Joe Davis found joy in fishing, playing golf, and following a variety of sports. Known for his quick wit and warm presence, he had a remarkable ability to light up any room and bring laughter to those around him. Joe Davis also had an immense love for music as it brought him such joy. He will be missed by all those who knew and cherished him the most.

Joe Davis is survived by his loving wife, Nelda Denley Wilcox; his son, Davis Wilcox (Kim); his grandchildren, Kaley Simcoe (Eric) and Kameron Wilcox; and his great-grandchildren, Lawson and Camille. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Joanne Gunn and Betty Vause.
