Joe Crawford , February 11,1943 – June 6, 2025
Joe passed away peacefully at home on June 6,2025 surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born at home in West Frankfort ,Illinois.
Joe lived a life marked by strength, independence, humor,and unwavering love for his family.Joe worked for many years on mine equipment, employed at m.a.t industries and later owner of cna industries. Outside of work he was a man of many passions. In his younger years he loved duck hunting,deer and quail hunting. Often taking his kids along for the adventure. He adored his dogs and horses. He found great joy in working on his friend Cathy’s farm riding tractors and simply being surrounded by the things he loved most. Family,animals and the outdoors .
Joe’s greatest pride was his family, he raised his five children with love and care and the bond he shared with them was evident. To all who knew him he had a special way of making people laugh and his witty magnetic personality made him someone everyone wanted to talk to. All of his nieces and nephews loved him like a second father
.
Joe was proceeded in death by his parents James and Charity Crawford . Brothers- Byrl, Lavern,Don,Dale,Jack Crawford and Charles Ford. Niece Pam Crawford,Nephew Larry Ford and Terry Armes . Brother in-law ,Herbert Armes. And sister in-law Ruth Crawford.
He is survived by his children , Jeff Crawford and Sherry Duncan, Tammy Williams and Preston Williams, Sherry Batts and David Batts, Jason Crawford and Debbie Edwards, Joey Crawford and Amber Matney .
His three sisters, Doris Crawford, Jean Crawford, Shirley Armes. and brother Jerome Crawford.
Joe also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren,
Jeff’s children, Cassie,Logan Crawford,Kara and Ashley Crawford
Tammy children,Seth Terry,Nicholas Terry, Ashley Walker, and Brittany Williams
Sherry children, Coe Batts and Lindsey, Brittany Gaither and David Gaither, Brandy Harbor and Jeremy Harbor and Collin Batts
Jason’s children, Brianna Crawford and fiance Jordan Pennington.
He is also remembered by his dear friend Cathy Kerrone and by many great grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. on Monday prior to the service.
