Joan (O’Hoff) Palumbo of Chicago, Illinois, died on September 3, 2025, at her home. She was 91 years young.
Mrs. Palumbo was born in Chicago, IL, in 1934, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Adolph & Lillian O’Hoff. She enjoyed a long career as a clerk at Oriole Park School in the Chicago Public Schools and sang for 51 years with the Apollo Chorus Club of Chicago.
Mrs. Palumbo is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Salvatore) Maggiore of Chicago, IL, and son, Michael (Agnieszka) Palumbo of Houston, TX, as well as five grandchildren: Angelica (Juan) Solis, Salvatore & Ava Maggiore, and Michael & Anthony Palumbo; and three great-grandchildren, Antonio, Matteo, and Sophia Joan Solis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Palumbo, and her sister, Verlee Buchholz.
A visitation for Joan will be held at Olson Burke-Sullivan Funeral & Cremation Center on Friday, September 12, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at 6467 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago, IL. A funeral will be held on September 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, located at 1500 W. Belmont Ave. Chicago, IL. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at church.
