Joan Barry

Joan Irene Barry, 82, of Vevay, Indiana, formerly of Morris, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. She was born October 6, 1942 in Batesville, Indiana, daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Freel) Tonges.

Joan enjoyed cooking and baking. She liked to sew and also liked to play cards. She loved spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Barry; son, Rod (Julie) Barry of Shelbyville, KY; 2 daughters, Brenda (David) Carter of Aurora, IN, Alisa (Paul) Human of Shelbyville, KY; sister, Mary (Bob) Behlmer of Greensburg, IN; 8 grandchildren, Amber Barry, Randy Bryant Jr., Jessica Barry, Michael Barry, Joshua Barry, Jessica Carter, Ashton Human, Cassidy Human; and 2 great grandchildren, Isla Hickey, Nathan Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mildred Tonges; son, Robert Barry; and her 2 brothers, Larry Tonges, Ronald Tonges.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4-6:30 pm at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, 455 Ridge Ave, Greendale, IN 47025. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Friday, July 11, 2025 at 6:30 pm.
