In Loving Memory of Jerry Milton Dickenson
(1939 – 2025)
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Milton Dickenson, 85, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of the Lord. Jerry entered into the presence of his Savior, rejoicing in eternal life on July 25, 2025.
Jerry was born in Chico, Texas to Lewis and Ellen Dickenson on August 25,1939. He married the love of his life, Judyth Lynne Cox on November 17, 1957 and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and purpose. They were blessed with four children: Cheryl, Melody, Rob, and Angela.
Jerry began his career working at Homs Grocery in Pampa, Texas, before relocating to Odessa, Texas , where he was employed at El Paso Products. In 1970, Jerry and Judy moved their family to Altus, Oklahoma, where he joined his brother-in-law, Bob and Don Speer, in the car business at Eastern Motors, where he remained until his retirement.
Cars were more than a career to Jerry-they were a passion. Whether selling, racing, restoring, or simply working on them, Jerry found joy under the hood. Alongside Bob and Don, he helped build and operate Altus Speedway, Pleasant Valley Speedway and Sooner International Raceway, leaving a lasting legacy in the local racing community.
Despite his many accomplishments, Jerry’s greatest pride and joy was his family. A loving patriarch, he led by example, providing unwavering support, wisdom, and care. He was a proud “PaPa” who rarely missed an event, and was always cheering from the sidelines with a heart full of pride.
Jerry was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, where he lived out his faith with quiet strength and humble devotion. He didn’t just speak about his faith he lived it. For Jerry, faith wasn’t just a part of life-it was his blueprint. His life was a living sermon of grace, generosity, and integrity.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father Lewis and Ellen Dickenson, brothers Donald and Johnny and sister Vera Speer, and son, Rob Dickenson.
