Jeanne Huling
- June 26, 2025

Jeanne Eleanor Huling, age 100, of Delaware, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2025, at Delaware Court.
She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1924, in Lowell, Ohio, to the late Aubrey L. and Geraldine E. (Graham) Lamp. In 1946, Jeanne became a Registered Nurse and began her nursing career at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
On February 1, 1948, she married Richard Huling and together they shared 60 wonderful years, raising their family and making the most of life until his sad passing in 2008.
She continued to work in the medical field while raising her family, and in 1967 graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Jeanne went on to teach and returned to nursing as a school nurse. She loved nursing.
Due to its central location with their family, Jeanne and Richard made Delaware, Ohio their home. They were the hub of activity for the Wesleyan Woods neighborhood. Jeanne was the organizer of the community’s entertainment and social activities. She made sure everyone always had fun and will be recalled for the use of her favorite word, “Shit” in describing daily activities, with a smile.
She enjoyed a passion for playing bridge as well as watching and feeding birds and squirrels. Jeanne also loved to go out to dinner in Columbus and always paid. Her life centered on her boy’s and family as they were her life. Her motto was “something good will happen every day”, and it did. She was a mother to many more than her own.
Always likeable and loving, she will forever be treasured for her feistiness and ornery ways. She leaves this world with no regrets; perhaps she expressed it best, “Shit.”
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved boys and their spouses: Daniel (Cathy) Huling of Kalamazoo, MI, David Huling of Marietta, and Donald (Tina) Huling of Delaware; 8 grandchildren: Jill Huling, Karen (Randy) Buckrupt, Lenore Seeley, Patricia (Brian) Bishop, Stephanie (Jason) Horn, Margaret Huling, Jennifer (Nathan) Custer, Amy (Bill) Kovacs, and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Richard, son, Richard Jr., and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother Franklin Lamp.
Her family and Jeanne would like to express their deep appreciation for the sincere care provided by her daughter-in-law, Tina Huling, during her last few months.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Cornerstone Methodist Church, 207 S. Court St, Marysville, Ohio with Rev. Nathan Custer officiating. Her family will great friends beginning at 10:30 am at the church prior to the service and a luncheon will be held at the church following the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the Snyder Funeral Center in Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County, 4920 S.R. 37, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
