Janice Emma Villhard (nee Prando), 85, of O’Fallon, IL, born on March 3, 1940, in Belleville, IL, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her residence.

Janice married John Villhard on October 18, 1969, at O’Fallon United Church of Christ. She was a lifelong resident of Witte Road, where she also raised their two sons.

In her young adult years, Janice was a Sunday school teacher at O’Fallon United Church of Christ in O’Fallon, IL. Throughout her life, she taught oil painting classes, was a leader in the 4H program, enjoyed antiquing trips, and was a University of Illinois master gardener. Janice loved gardening, specifically flowers, and spending her time outdoors. Inside, she oil painted, sewed, and made quilts. Janice even made her own wedding dress. She was a very creative woman, having owned antique and craft stores in O’Fallon, IL and St. Charles, MO. Janice retired from the University of Illinois COOP Extension Service, where she was a secretary for many years.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Irma Prando (nee Weil); and her brother, Ronald Prando.

Janice is survived by her loving husband, John Villhard of O’Fallon, IL; her two sons, John Villhard Jr. of O’Fallon, IL, Rodney (Cindy) Villhard of Yucaipa, CA; and one grandson, Nicholas Villhard of Kansas City, MO.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL 62269.

Another visitation will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Schildknecht Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Martha L. Thierheimer officiating. Burial to follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery at 601 N. Oak St., O’Fallon, IL 62269.
