Janey Bullock, born May 24, 1940, in Raleigh, North Carolina, entered into her heavenly rest after a life marked by love, faith, and service. A proud graduate of Jamestown High School, Janey’s warmth and kindness left an impression wherever she went. She married the love of her life, Jack Bullock, on July 29, 1960, and together they shared 65 years of marriage marked by unwavering devotion and faith.
Janey was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished sister. She is survived by her husband, Jack Bullock; her sons, Joey Bullock and Jeff Bullock (wife Ana); and her sister, Emily. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren—Marie Bullock, Caroline Placey (Sean), Jefferson Bullock (Kayla), Charlotte Bullock (Yazzy), Nick Bullock (Ashley), Brittany Cline (Brather), and Caitlyn Bullock—and five great-grandchildren, Liam, Julia, Ellery, Jackson, and Theodora. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty DeRome. Janey’s family was her greatest joy, and her love for them was evident in everything she did.
Throughout her life, Janey faithfully served others with grace and a cheerful heart. She worked as a secretary at NC State and Data General, where she was admired for her diligence and compassion. As a devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church, she poured her heart into her church community, finding joy in serving others, especially seniors and those who were shut-ins. Janey will be remembered as an amazing wife, devoted mother, and faithful friend whose gentle spirit and steadfast faith continue to inspire all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1701 Bud Lipscomb Road, Willow Spring. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
