Janet Darlene Maynard 64 of Pikeville, KY passed from this earthly life Monday August 4, 2025, at her residence.

Darlene was born Sunday August 14, 1960, in Pike County, KY a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth “Hester” Thompson.

Darlene was a bookkeeper for General truck parts and a homemaker.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father Charles Thompson and her husband James Maynard.

Darlene is survived by her mother Elizabeth “Hester” Thompson of Pikeville, KY; one son Curtis (Katrina) King of Pikeville, KY; one daughter Mindy (Robin Mavis) King of Wichita, KS; two brothers Robert Thompson of Pikeville, KY and Randy Hess of Kimper, KY; four sisters Lisa Elliott of Virgie, KY, Connie Chapman, Jamie Hall & Doris Taylor all of Pikeville, KY; 5 grandchildren Sky “Devan” Turner, Audrey Turner, Beth Turner, Maddie King & Weston King; and one great grandchild Sloane Turner.

Darlene leaves many other family and friends to mourn her passing.

Janet Darlene Maynard will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
