James Langley

Beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025. Age 92 years. Son of the late Clayton and Emma (VanDriessche) Langley, James was born December 27, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a 1950 graduate of St. James High School in Bay City. James served proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a recent recipient of the Honor Flight. He married Maggie Jane (Ray) Adkins on October 18, 1958. She predeceased him May 5, 2000. He then married Kathleen Louise (Trudell) Peters on November 28, 2002. She predeceased him March 16, 2016. James was an engineer at General Motors for 36 years and three months retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Dominic Parish- St. Stephen Catholic Church. James enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing and hunting.

Surviving to cherish his memory are two children, Sharon and Patrick Cummins, Wayne, Michigan; Frank and Carol Adkins, West Bend, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Jennifer Adkins and her significant other, Andrew Hayes, Ashley Johnson, and Erik and Alecia Adkins; two great-grandchildren, Henry Johnson and Lyla Johnstone; two sisters, Catherine Lee, Saginaw; Marilyn Lemanek, Saginaw; a very special and close friend, Rose Marie Shotwell, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased in death by his sister. Janice Kukla on October 30, 1977.

Honoring Mr. Langley’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. Burial of cremains and a Military Service conducted by and the U.S. Air Force will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
