James Flaherty

James E. Flaherty, 68, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness.

He was born on July 3, 1956 in Dover to the late Okie and Alverna L. (Renner) Flaherty.

James graduated from Dover High School in 1975. He is retired from factory work. After retirement, he loved gardening, especially his rose gardens.

Surviving is his daughter Jamie (Stephen) Wallace of Dover; his two grandchildren, Luke and Natalie Wallace; sister, Connie (Thomas) Salyers of Massillon; half siblings Linda (Jon) Brown of Dover, Clara (Bill) Dillon of Texas and Mike Flaherty of Columbus; and his beloved pets, Scrappy, Squish, and Mock.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant sister Virginia; sister Pat Greenough; and half siblings Donna Trosse and Dale Flaherty.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private Celebration of his Life will be held later this summer.
