James Calimer, Jr.

James E. Calimer, Jr., 63, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Born February 7, 1962 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Mrs. Barbara Jean (Cook) Oaks of Waynesboro and the late James E. Calimer, Sr.
He was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1980.
Jim began his working career with Pryor Mechanical in Middletown, MD and later M.S. Johnston in Hagerstown, MD. He currently served as Mechanical Supervisor with Rodney B. Smith Plumbing and Heating.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
A dedicated husband and father, Jim cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. He loved to spend time outdoors working in his garden and taking care of his yard. A gifted craftsman, he was an accomplished painter and woodworker. He was a dedicated fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Penn State and the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed live music and attending concerts. Jim also treasured time spent with his friends, especially Bob & Frank perfecting surf fishing along the Outer Banks.
In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan W. (Wolff) Calimer, who he married June 24, 1989; two sons, Zachary E. Calimer and his wife, Jana of Waynesboro and Thomas J. Calimer of Chambersburg; four grandchildren, Henry Calimer, Jade Calimer and Waylon & Walker Calimer and their mother, Karleena; three brothers, Timothy G. Calimer, David A. Calimer and Mark K. Calimer, all of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Edward Wolff.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
