Phoenix – Jack Michael Beyda, 75, passed away on June 11, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on July 27, 1949, in Chicago, he was the son of the late Sam and Esther Beyda. Jack spent his formative years in Chicago, attending Clinton Elementary and Mather High School before earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University in 1971.
Jack dedicated 43 years to teaching middle school math at Cactus Wren, Desert Foothills, and Cholla Middle School in the Washington Elementary School District. His commitment to education touched the lives of countless students throughout his career.
A devoted sports fan, Jack fervently supported the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Bears. His love for sports was paralleled by his passion for golf, which he played regularly. Music also played a significant role in his life, enjoying performances from the Phoenix Symphony to Bob Dylan concerts.
Jack’s legacy is lovingly cherished by his wife of 46 years, Mary Beyda, and their children, Cyndee (Travis) Markel, Suzzanne Ravitz, and Brian Stolt. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Madison, Sydney, Mia, Michael, Brett, and Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Michelle (Craig) Anderson, and nephews, Eric (Shelley) and Ryan (Danielle).
A memorial service to honor Jack’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 16, at Sinai Mortuary of Arizona. Jack’s life was a testament to his dedication to education, love for sports and music, and the deep bonds he formed with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
