October 14, 1941 – June 27, 2025

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Herman Lee Hadnot, who departed this world on June 27, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born on October 14, 1941, in Jasper, Texas, to Janie Seal and Will Hadnot, Herman moved with his family to Winslow in 1954, where he would build a life rooted in community, family, and kindness.

After graduating from Winslow High School, where he was an avid baseball player and history enthusiast, Herman enlisted in the United States Army in 1960. He served honorably until his discharge in September 1963. Throughout his life, Herman pursued many passions: he loved animals, collected coins, enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles, attended car shows, and found joy in boxing and fishing.

Herman dedicated 30 years of service to the Cholla Power Plant and also worked for the railroad in the early 1970s as a chaircar attendant. Known affectionately as “Greedy man,” Herman was recognized for his impeccable style, always dressed

to the “T.”

He shared a loving partnership with Gloria Jean Warren Hadnot for 47 years until her health declined. Together, they raised a large and caring family. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Janie Hadnot; sisters Mary Joe, Rebecca Beaty, Maedee Harris and Clo Ella Huntsman; brothers Robert Lee, John Ferguson, Chester Ray, Willie Lee (“WL”) and Billy Gene; and a great-nephew, Jason Sandoval, Jr., whom he helped raise.

He is survived by his three children: daughter Octaviea “Lisa” Boucher (Kevin) and children; son Illya Hadnot; grandson Joshua Stago (Shereen); great-granddaughter Skyy Stago; and his adopted son, Graygo Hume. He also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews whom he and Gloria raised as their own: Danica Warren, Alannah Alexander, Ebony Lee (Rick), Doni Jo “Trae” Warren, Joseph Warren and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Herman’s legacy will be remembered as one of devotion, generosity, and enduring love for family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
