By Denise Clodjeaux — The Rotary Club of Carson City will welcome Laura Deverse, Nutrition Counselor and Diabetes Educator, at Carson Tahoe Health, at its next club meeting. The meeting takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at noon, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
Her presentation will focus on the role fiber plays in keeping people healthy. She will also explain the connection between gut health and chronic disease.
Deverse, a Registered Dietitian, has worked within the Carson Tahoe Health System for over 28 years. During her tenure, she has specialized in providing nutritional support for surgical and critical care patients. In addition, she provided and continues to provide nutrition counseling and education for patients in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs. She now focuses her efforts on supporting individuals with diabetes and/other chronic disease diagnoses with personalized care.
The public is invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the importance of fiber in our diets. Those interested in attending should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com. Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom is located at 449 West King Street, Carson City.
