Hamid Bhatti

Hamid Bhatti, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the age of 90.

Born in Qadian, India, in 1934. Hamid migrated to Pakistan during the partition and later moved to Kenya, where he built his life with his wife, Mumtaz Sahiba, and their three sons. In 1974 he immigrated to the United States, settling in Harrisburg and becoming one of the pioneer families of York Jama’at.

He worked for 30 years as a stenographer for the Commonwealth of PA Department of Labor and Industry.

Hamid Bhatti was deeply devoted to his prayers and his faith. He served Jama’at with dedication, including as local finance secretary for over 30 years, and was known for his love of children, humor and craftsmanship.

He leaves behind his wife, three sons, a brother, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Hadee Mosque, 245 Division Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Prayers will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Mosque. Burial will be in East Harrisburg Cemetery, Harrisburg.
