A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, 1:00 pm, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Gwendolyn Marie Kibodeaux, 67, who passed away at Encore Healthcare in Crowley on June 11, 2025.
Fr. Mark Miley, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be Saturday from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm. A rosary will be recited at 11:00 am. The burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Gwendolyn was a loving wife, friend and aunt/bonus mom. She was an animal lover and a people person. She also enjoyed traveling. Gwen was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where she served as a religion teacher, religious coordinator and a bookkeeper. Following her retirement from the church, she continued to volunteer her time by serving and managing Mrs. Helen’s Soup Kitchen.
She is survived by her niece/daughter, Elizabeth Benton and her husband, Terrell and her children, Nicholas Benton and his fiancée, Felicia Hoon, and their daughter, Lila Benton, and Logan Benton; a sister, Joanna Smith and her husband, Howard Smith, Jr.; her niece, Yolanda Miller and her husband, Kirt and her children, Kirt Miller, Jr. and Kyle Miller; her companion, Charles Jones; sister, Carla Dean LaBove; brother, Percy Kibodeaux; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of friends made through the years from the St. Michael Church community.
Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Steven Kibodeaux; her parents, Joseph Kibodeaux and the former Ida Guidry; one sister, Diane Mathiew; and one brother, Carl Kibodeaux.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Lamm Hospice for their compassionate care of Gwen.
