We gather to honor and celebrate the life of Gloria H. Smith, a beloved soul who departed on May 14th, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 9th, 1939, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Gloria was intelligent, adventurous and spirited throughout her life. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1957 and excelled as a skilled sales representative, where her hard work ethic showed brightly. Winning several awards. Loved by her peers.

Gloria’s personal interests included listening to old hymns and watching “M*A*S*H” with Russ. She was a devoted fan of Alan Jackson and George Strait. Later in life she developed an interest in casinos and digital games. found great joy in the kitchen, helping Russ with baked spaghetti, and elegant steak on rice. Always making enough for leftovers, much to the delight Kimberly, Daniel and Michal enjoyed at times. Gloria also cherished celebrating Mother’s Day with Linda Sitko. Her admiration for eagles and owls as well as her love for nature, reflected her deep appreciation for the majestic beauty of God’s creation.

Her beloved family included her mother, Grace Garrison; her husband, Russell Smith; her sisters, Jean Pauley, Sallie Ripley; her son, Daniel Smith, and his wife, Kimberly; Linda and Joseph Sitko, Kimberly’s parents; and David Christensen, Daniel’s childhood friend since age of 13, whom Gloria and Russell loved as their own. Also had a special relationship with Linda Jacobi Lee. Jason’s mother. Gloria was a strong woman who rejoiced in the lives of her grandchildren, Jason Jacobi, Amber Briggs, Michal Sitko, and David Briggs, and always held the memory of her late granddaughter Megan Smith that passed 02/21/2006 close to her heart. Gloria passed peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona, after bravely battling respiratory arrest. “Memories are like stars; you may not be able to touch them, but you can always look at them.” Let us cherish the beauty and lessons Gloria brought into this world. She now rests in the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ.
