Gianna “Gigi” Ambrosio

Gianna “Gigi” Ambrosio

Gianna Nicole Ambrosio, affectionately known to all as “Gigi”, went home to the Lord on June 25, 2025. She was 19 years old. Gigi waged a brave and valiant battle with Ewings Sarcoma for six years. Gigi was born on March 1, 2006, to Gino & Kimberly Anne (nee Quinn) Ambrosio. She was a graduate of the Ursuline School, Class of 2024. There, Gigi was a well-known and well-loved face, always with a smile and always surrounded by her many, many friends. It was there she led “The Angel Club”, a club designed to help families affected by cancer. Following graduation, Gigi went on to attend Villanova University to fulfill her dream of becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. Gigi was a champion for children affected by cancer. In her early years of treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering, she would gather other children inflicted with illness and create a forum for them to freely share their feelings. She was a spokesperson for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, as well. Gigi carried her family and friends through years of her illness with her strength and her faith in God. She never questioned “why” but instead saw her trials as the hand of God working through her. Gigi had many loves and interests. She was a true “Swiftie” as well as a NY Islanders Fan. Her greatest love was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. From annual vacations, to holidays, to just being at her home surrounded by people she loved, that’s what made her the happiest. To know Gigi was to love her, and she will be sorely missed by all. Gigi is now reunited in Heaven with her father, Gino Ambrosio. She leaves behind her devoted and loving mother, Kim Ambrosio and her cherished brothers, Gino & Gerard Ambrosio. She is also survived by her loving aunts and uncles, Rose & Michael Howard, Richard & Gabrielle Mucci and Gerard & Lila Ambrosio, her cousins, Chloe Howard, Mia Mucci, Milania Ambrosio & Marco Ambrosio, along with many more cousins, cherished friends, and faithful four-legged companions, Diesel, Luna and Louie. To honor Gigi’s life, family and friends will gather on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10am at Sts. John & Paul R.C. Church followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Gigi requested donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering, directed towards their Pediatric Oncology Department, https://giving.mskcc.org/msk-kids
