Germaine Kahover

Germaine Kahover was born March 1st 1935 to Leo and Adele Golda in Chicago, Illinois. The highlight of her early years was being on many CBS and NBC radio shows and joining the American Federation of Radio Artists. She appeared in educational films and television shows in Chicago.

After graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and Creative Dramatics, she married Charles Kahover in Chicago on July 14, 1956 and taught kindergarten in Wilmette, IL for a year until their first child was born.

The family moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1969 as part of a move of Motorola employees. Germaine taught Creative Dramatics classes through the Scottsdale Parks and Rec program, then returned to teaching kindergarten and the lower grades in the Paradise Valley School District for 15 years, making many friends and enjoying being able to help young children again.

She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 43 years, Charles, a brother Michael and sister Trudy. She is survived by sons Jim and Brian, daughter Jeannette, four grandchildren, Kathryn, Erin, Kevin and Robin and two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Noah.

In 2013 she made The Springs of Scottsdale her new home, and passed peacefully there on October 18, 2025.
