Gary Michael Ford Sr., 78, of Brunswick, MO, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Funeral services will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Beth Waters will officiate the service. A visitation will precede the service on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery.
Gary was born on September 23, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Elmer and Mary Dolores (Gottschalk) Ford. He graduated from East High School in Kansas City in 1965. On May 27, 1965, Gary married the love of his life, Virginia Sleeth, in Kansas City, MO. Together they were blessed with four children, Gary II, Michelle, Lenny, and Terry.
After high school Gary began working for the Ford Assembly plant in Claycomo, MO and later worked for a vending machine and amusement company delivering and repairing various arcade games and vending machines.
Gary loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a Presbyterian in the Christian faith.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Virginia; three children, Gary Ford II and his significant other Christina of Kansas City, MO, Michelle Lutman and her husband Travis of Climax Springs, MO, and Lenny Ford of Brunswick, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Gary Michael, Courtney Ford, Dylan Ford, Clay Picolet, Travis Lutman II, William Lutman, Corey Lutman and his significant other Danielle, Michael Elliott, Cheyenne Benedict and her husband Austin, Terry Ford II and his wife Katie, Kodye Schultz, Lenny Ford II and his wife Grace, and Nathaniel Ford and his wife Aurora; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mary Ford; one son, Terry Ford; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Benedict; and one brother, Greg Ford.
Pallbearers were Travis Lutman II, William Lutman, Corey Lutman, Nathanial Ford, Terry Ford II, Greg Ford II, and Michael Elliott. Honorary pallbearers were Lenny Ford II, Kodye Schultz, and Dylan Ford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
