Gail Herd

Gail Herd, age 84 of Washington Twp., and formerly of Warren, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1941 the daughter of Anthony and Theresa (Werholtz) Lackner in Detroit. She graduated from Ferndale High School. Gail married her beloved husband Ernest E. Herd on February 6, 1965 at Ferndale Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Gail is survived by her beloved husband Ernest of 60 years, loving daughter Lori (Tom) Gazley of Washington Twp., beloved grandchildren Megan Gazley and Matt Gazley. Also surviving her siblings Michael Lackner of California and Joanne Johnson of Oxford. She was preceded in death by her son Scott Herd.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7pm all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 296 S.
