Frank Grillo, Sr.
Frank Anthony Grillo Sr., known affectionately as Frank to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, due to heart failure. Born on July 20, 1947, in the Bronx, New York, Frank’s journey through life was marked by devotion to his family, a passion for his work, and a love for the simple pleasures in life.
Frank’s legacy begins with his cherished family. He was a loving husband to his wife of 57 years, Linda Grillo nee Roth. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, setting a powerful example of partnership and commitment for their children. Frank was a proud father to his daughter Regina Glazer nee Grillo, his sons Dominick Joseph Grillo and Frank Grillo Jr., and a doting grandfather to his four grandchildren, Theresa Glazer, Haiden Glazer, Cameron Grillo-Marquez, and Dominick Grillo Jr. His life was further enriched by the presence of his sister, Louise Praino nee Grillo, and her fiancé, Duane Grenyo, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss his guidance and support. Frank was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Grillo Jr., his mother, Theresa Grillo nee Musco, his father, Joseph Grillo Sr., and his son-in-law, Howard Glazer.
Educated in the Bronx, Frank was a proud alumnus of Cardinal Hayes High School. He furthered his education at Westchester Community College, where he earned an Associate’s degree along with several programming certificates. His academic pursuits were a testament to his belief in the power of education and his dedication to lifelong learning.
Frank’s professional life was a reflection of his strong work ethic and his ability to adapt to the evolving technological landscape. For 38 years, he excelled as a systems analyst, contributing his expertise to prominent companies such as General Foods, Kraft General Foods, Philip Morris, and Altria. Frank took great pride in his career, and his dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him.
Outside of work, Frank’s interests were diverse and reflected his love for camaraderie and the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and softball player, finding joy and friendship on the greens, lanes, and fields. Frank also cherished his time spent fishing, where the serenity of nature was a source of great contentment. His passion for classic cars, old westerns, and Godzilla movies spoke to his appreciation for nostalgia and the iconic moments of Americana.
Those who knew Frank best would describe him as loving, kind, and selfless. His generosity of spirit was boundless, and his willingness to help others was a hallmark of his character. Frank’s presence was a source of comfort and strength to his family and friends, and his influence will continue to be felt long after his passing.
As we bid farewell to Frank Anthony Grillo Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the love he gave and the lives he touched. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared and the laughter remembered. Frank’s journey on this earth has ended, but his spirit remains a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In keeping with Frank’s unassuming nature, his life will be celebrated with a viewing at Graham Funeral Home in Rye, NY on Sunday 1pm to 4 pm and Funeral at Corpus Christi Church at 10 am on Monday with family and friends. His legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will be carried forward by those who loved him most. Frank’s memory will forever be a beacon of the values he held dear, and his life will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Rest in peace, dear Frank, until we meet again.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation maybe made in Frank’s name to American Heart Association.
