Elta Cain
On Friday, February 21, 2025, Elta Evelyn Cain of Walnut Creek, California passed away at the age of 91 years. Evelyn was born Elta Evelyn Peck in New Mexico to Hannah Edith (Longbotham) and Ezekiel Orien Peck.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene Austin Cain, and her son, Stephen Austin Cain. Evelyn is survived by her son, Michael Cain of Walnut Creek; daughters, Elizabeth Cain of Belmont and Carolyn Cain of Walnut Creek; grandchildren, Rachel Colonna, Michael Cain, Jr., Annabella Lothrop, Patrick Cain, Matthew Wood, Kelly (Cain) Sapp, Melissa Wood and Christopher Cain; and great grandchildren, Amelianna, Emmet, Aisley, and Carmela Evelyn.
Evelyn was a resident of Walnut Creek for 54 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree at California State University, East Bay and worked for Bank of America for over 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Walnut Creek. Throughout her life, Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her garden, and going to church.
Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ, 500 Minert Rd., Walnut Creek, CA. Interment will follow at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, CA. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5th, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Hull’s Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave, Walnut Creek, CA 94595.
