UPDATE: Four people and two pets escaped a mobile home fire early Saturday afternoon at the Carson Mobile Home Park in the 3400 block of South Carson Street, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Mason. There were no injuries however the structure was left uninhabitable.
Dispatch alerted the fire department to the structure fire at around 12:30 p.m. Firefighters arrived to a single wide mobile home with heavy smoke showing. Once firefighters made entry, the fire was found to be in the laundry room and kitchen area, Mason said.
CCFD is investigating the cause, which likely started from the dryer, where there may have been a dirty trap or exhaust hose, said Mason. The home is uninhabitable. Red Cross has been notified and are in touch with the victims.
