Forecast: Warm week ahead in South Lake Tahoe, 80s possible

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Transient high pressure aloft continues to produce very warm, fair weather area-wide as we wrap up the Memorial Day weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
There is unseasonably strong high pressure that will be our first taste of summer, with temperatures normal for July.
A minor to moderate HeatRisk will develop by Wednesday, becoming mostly moderate Friday and Saturday.
With summer just around the corner, this is a good opportunity to practice heat safety tips such as staying hydrated, limiting time in the heat, and wearing light-colored clothing.
The NWS Reno forecast for South Lake Tahoe:
Memorial Day
Mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 68. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Monday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 42. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday
Sunny, with a high near 75. East wind around 5 mph.
Tuesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 46. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
Wednesday
Sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 79.
Thursday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 50.
Friday
Sunny, with a high near 82.
Friday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 51.
