Fordyce McCabe, Jr.

Fordyce G. “Mac’ McCabe Jr. passed away peacefully on September 7,2025 at home in Payson, AZ.

Mac lived a full life of 95 years. His passions were family and aviation. Born in Francisco, CA, he later lived in Boulder, CO and Thousand Oaks, CA.

He graduated from the University of Colorado and spent time in the Air Force. He traveled all over the United States, including Hawaii as a United Airlines Captain. After his retirement he ran a Fixed Based Operation renting and managing airplanes in Camarillo CA. His last stop was in Payson where he retired with his life companion Marie Fasano. Both pilots, they flew throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

Mac was a pilot coordinator for the Flying Samaritans, flying medical missions to Baja California, and Angel Flight West.

Survived by his wife, Marie Fasano; his son, David McCabe and daughter-in-law, Judith; and his daughter, Deborah Jordan. His first wife Dee Mc Cabe, daughter Laura McCabe and grandson Lukas McCabe predeceased him.

He leaves grandchildren Brian, Shawn, Bethany, Grace, Molly, Carson, Kurtis, Maia, Alyssa and Joey, great-grandchildren Jayden, Redford, Ember Rose, Grey, and Nova.

Interment will be at the McCabe family plot in Boulder Colorado at a later date. Donations in his memory may be sent to Angel Flight West.

Mac was a gentle soul with a sense of humor who was loved by many and will be missed.
