Faith Griffin

Faith F. Griffin, 84, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Crouse Community in Hamilton. Born in Rome on March 31, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Audrey (Oaster) Finster. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Mohawk Valley Community College. On April 21, 1976, she was united in marriage to Dennis Griffin. He passed away June 21, 2021.

Faith worked for the Rome Developmental Center for 20 years and edited all 22 of her late husband Denny’s books.

She shared a wonderful life of love and adventure with Denny. Together, they traveled widely, embracing new places and experiences side by side. For 19 years, they made their home in Las Vegas, and later they spent six years in Florida, enjoying the sunshine and warm weather.

Faith is survived by her loving children, Pamela Ashley (Keith) and Robert McAree (Paula); four cherished grandchildren, Erin Ashley, Amber Richlin, Samantha Wasco (Nicole), and Cole Vetrone; and six precious great-grandchildren, Alexander, Trevor, Olivia, Evan, and Zander. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Eileen McAree.

Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440, on Wednesday, October 1st, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
