Evangelia Rempas

Evangelia Rempas, nee Elenis, 83, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion that touched all who knew her. Born in 1942 in Kranidi, Greece, Evangelia carried the spirit of her homeland with her throughout her life. In her late twenties she courageously journeyed to the United States, eventually making Chicago, Illinois her home.

Evangelia is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Rempas, and her cherished sons, Spiro (Amy) and Emmanuel (Stella). She was a devoted and joyful Yia Yia to her four grandchildren-Thano, Penny, Thanasi, and Markella-who brought her endless pride and happiness. Dear sister of the late Kosta, Tasos and Demetrios. A woman of deep heart and generous spirit, Evangelia found joy in life’s simple, meaningful pleasures. She loved cooking and sharing meals that brought family and friends together, tending to her garden with care, and having long, lively conversations with those she held dear. Her warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be remembered always.

Evangelia’s life was defined by love-love for her family, her heritage, her community, and the everyday moments that made life beautiful. She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory.

Saturday, November 22nd a visitation will be held at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 5649 N Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60660, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
