Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, June 9, 2025, at Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Ethan James Richard, 26, who passed away on June 4, 2025.

Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held on Monday from 3:00 pm to the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 4:30 pm on Monday. Inurnment will be in Abshire Cemetery at a later date.

Ethan is survived by his mother, Loretta Richard of Morse; one sister, Erin Marceaux and husband, Jacob, of Crowley; two nieces, Amelia Marceaux and Tillie Marceaux; one nephew and godchild, Clarence Marceaux; three aunts, Pat Guidry, Denise Primeaux and husband, Eric, and Janet Monceaux; one uncle, Donald Dequeant; his godmother, Brandy Manshack and her husband Joey; his godfather, Michael Dequeant and his wife Trish; and numerous cousins and plenty of friends.

Ethan is preceded in death by his father, Randall Richard; maternal grandparents, Elwood “Nocko” and Romona Trahan; paternal grandparents, Jules and Mildred Richard; two aunts, Deborah Dequeant and Sandra Broussard and husband, Anthony; one uncle, Bobby Guidry; and one cousin, Nicholas Dequeant.
