Estill “Sonny” Slone, age 78 of Hindman, Kentucky passed away on Monday September 1, 2025, at the Knott County Health and Rehabilitation in Hindman, KY. He was born on January 26, 1947, in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Wilson and Virgie Slone. He was the husband to the late Peggy Jean Smith Slone.

Grandchildren: Aaron Fugate, Mason Fugate; A Host of Beloved Nieces, Nephews, Family & Friends

Estill “Sonny” is preceded in passing by his Wife: Peggy Jean Smith Slone; Parents: Wilson and Virgie Slone; 

Brothers: Fred Slone, Carmel Slone, James Slone, 2 Infants; Sisters: Clara Mae Campbell, Fern Slone, Bethel Lee Singleton,

Melda Campbell, Velma Cambell

The family will receive friends Friday September 5, 2025, from 11AM-1PM prior to the funeral service at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, KY.

Funeral Services will be on Friday September 5, 2025, at 1PM at the funeral home chapel with Josh Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Ada Woods Cemetery in Pippa Passes, KY. Estill “Sonny” will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations can be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
