Erma Igo

In loving memory of Erma Lee Igo of Campbells Creek who passed away April 5, 2025 surrounded by those who loved her the most.

Her goal was to live her Christian faith before her family and her community, while preparing to meet her Lord at the end of her journey. Her walk with the Lord on Earth ended at the age of 91, when she stepped into Eternity.

Erma worked at the Kanawha County Voter’s Registration Office for 27 years before retiring, she then went to work assisting with ladies who needed care for 15 years and she loved each and every one of them.

Erma was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Daniel Igo; parents, Earl and Lilia Townsend; son, David Igo; three grandsons, infant Jeffery D. Igo, Larry Bonham, Joseph Igo; two granddaughters, Ashley Igo, Carrie Igo; son-in-law, Gary Layton and brother, Darrell Townsend.

She is survived by her son, William Igo and his sons, Billy Igo and John Igo; son, Ricky Igo and his children, Amanda Igo and Daniel Igo; daughter, Cindy Nunley (Larry) and their daughter, Danielle Bellew; daughter, Kathy Layton and her children, Amy Layton and Dustin Layton; her baby girl, Tara Morris (Rod) and their grand-fur baby, Thumper and twelve great grandchildren. Erma also has four bonus daughters she loved like her own, Diane Tittle, Nancy Summers, Wanda Dickerson and another baby girl, Joyce Hoover who called everyday to say hello.

We will cherish her memory until we meet again- What a Day that will Be.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Big Bottom Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Christian and Pastor Mike Long officiating. Interment will follow in Collins Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church on Thursday.

We love you Mom, your family and community.
