Emily Ann Shepard, age 33, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Ohio Health-Mansfield Hospital.
Born on March 30, 1992, along with her twin sister, Brittany, she was the daughter of Mary M. Shepard and the late Matthew J. Marvin-Shepard.
Emily was a 2011 graduate of Highland High School in Morrow. Described by her family as a “firecracker” and a “pistol”, Emily was little, but very mighty. She loved to watch scary movies, collected everything, Jack Skellington from the movie film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Emily also adored the actress, Marilyn Monroe and loved to play her music loud, typically listening to Machine Gun Kelly and Lil’ Wayne. A favorite running joke in the family was that Emily had a strong dislike for Frogs, but her “TT” loved frogs and enjoyed playing with them, the family was always sure to send any pictures to Emily.
Courageously fighting Crohn’s Disease her entire life, being so brave throughout every surgery and doctor appointment, she was the strongest fighter her family and friends had ever known. With her mommy at her side, they tirelessly spent many of her childhood day’s at Nationwide Children’ Hospital in Columbus, for whom they are grateful for saving their family many times.
In addition to her loving mother, left to cherish her memory is her sister, Brittany (Jeremy) Conkle; her brother, Jett Mooney and her niece, Allison, whom Emily called “TT”. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Emily was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents, Richard and Ann Shepard.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will be observed. A celebration honoring Emily’s life will be held at a later date by the family.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Emily’s name be made to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus by clicking here, to express their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care, kindness and love they gave to both Emily and her family when she was in their care.
