Emilio Zapanta

Emilio N. Zapanta was born July 5, 1951 in Angeles City, Philippines. He was the 6th child out of 11 siblings. During his time in the Philippines he would play tennis, using his hands to build and repair things and would spend time with his siblings which he  stated that those were the best moments growing up.

Then later he joined the U.S. Navy on September 8, 1972. Emilio served his country for 3 years. In July 1972 Emilio met his beloved wife Marietta, where they lived in the apartments on 8th street in San Francisco for 3 years. On July 1973, Emilio & Marietta got married, and then had their 1st born child Emil M. Zapanta. After those years of living on 8th street Emilio & Marietta were able to purchase their 1st home on November 1978 (which until this day still residing in the same house for 

47 years!). On May 19, 1984, their 2nd son Jumar N. Zapanta was born.

Emilio was an employee of the VA Medical Center as an Environmental Management Service manager for 30 years! He began his employment there in the year 1975, then retired in the year 2005. After his 1st retirement, he then went back to work at the Holiday Inn on 8th street downtown San Francisco, where he then retired for the 2nd time. There he worked as an engineer with Local 39 for 10 years with his older sister Corazon.

Emilio will always be remembered for respect, integrity and dedication. He would brighten up a room with his smile and sense of humor. He will be truly and deeply missed by his wife Marietta V. Zapanta, his two children Emil M. Zapanta & Jumar N. Zapanta, his daughter-in-law Estela Ceja and his two grandchildren Bibianna G. Zapanta & Adrian P. Zapanta.
