ELIZABETH “BETTY” BAILEY was called home in the early morning hours of March 8th, 2025. She was 100 years old.
Betty was born to Irene (Kuchta) and Michael Wolosin on February 3, 1925. At the age of only 6 years old, she immigrated through Ellis Island and began grade school in Manhattan. In 1952, she married George Bailey and soon after they relocated to Yonkers. They were married for nearly 45 years before his passing in 1995.
Betty was spunky, fierce and was loved by everyone who knew her. Though dementia had showed its ugly colors, Betty’s personality never failed to shine through.
She is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters, Diane Bailey and Carol Cacciatore, son in laws, Robert Cacciatore & Joseph Thom, her beloved niece, J. Cindy Eson (Valerie), her grandchildren whom she adored, Elise Cacciatore (Jared), Michael Cacciatore (Brielle), and the greatest blessing, Betty’s great grandson Dominic James Cacciatore. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Dougherty, her brothers Teddy, Mickey, & Johnny Wolosin as well as both her parents.
Visitation for Elizabeth will take place in DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 11:30AM to 12:30PM followed by a Funeral Service at the Funeral Home. Interment Oakland Cemetery.
