Elena Alvarez Huizar, late of Portage, IN., a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her family, was born on October 8, 1950, in Zacatecas, Mexico. She passed away on February 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Elena’s life was marked by her deep devotion to her family, which she treasured above all. She is survived by her children, Irma (Clemente) Medrano, Mario (Fabiola) Huizar, Jorge (Erika) Huizar, Veronica (Jesus Cardenas) Huizar, Elizabeth (Eberaldo) Campos, Jose M. (Karina) Huizar and Vanessa Huizar. Elena’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Ariana, Tatiana, Allison, the late Pricilla G., Kristal, Mario Jr., Roxana V., Daniel, Alessandra, Osbaldo, Maritza, Jose, Melissa, Alex, Briana A., Julian E., Khloe E., Kamila Z. and Diego G., as well as her great-grandchildren, Alliana, Ilan, Zael U. and Uziel M. They were a source of immense pride and joy for her, and their lives were enriched by her love and guidance. Elena also leaves behind her siblings, Baltazar Alvarez, Atanacio Alvarez, Vicente Alvarez, Guillermina Alvarez, Jose Alvarez and Ramon Alvarez, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Alvarez and Otilia Alvarez Becerra, her husband, Jose de Jesus Huizar and her brother, Manuel Alvarez. The loss of her granddaughter, Pricilla G., was a profound sorrow for Elena, who carried her memory with deep love.
Elena Alvarez Huizar’s spirit will live on through the stories and memories shared by her loved ones. She will be profoundly missed, yet her love and influence will remain a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her.

Elena tambin deja atrs a sus hermanos Baltazar Alvarez, Atanacio Alvarez, Vicente Alvarez, Guillermina Alvarez, Jos Alvarez y Ramn Alvarez, adems de muchas sobrinas y sobrinos que llevarn su memoria en sus corazones.Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Manuel Alvarez y Otilia Alvarez Becerra, su esposo, Jos de Jess Huizar y su hermano, Manuel Alvarez. La prdida de su nieta, Pricilla G., fue un profundo dolor para Elena, quien llev su recuerdo con profundo amor.
