Clinton-Atty. Edward M. Sheridan, 71, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 19, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen (McAndrews) Sheridan; their four children, Meghan Frisch & husband John, Michael Sheridan, Maureen Mortimer & husband Patrick, and Mark Sheridan & wife Katie; and 5 adoring grandchildren, Kaelan, Brendan, Austin, Maura and Elinor. He leaves his siblings, Austin Sheridan & wife Brenda, Mary Notaro & husband Ronald, Ann Winn, Patrick Sheridan & wife Katie, Peter Sheridan & wife Valerie; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Son of the late Austin & Dorothy (Gannon) Sheridan, Eddie was born and raised in Clinton, and was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1971. He graduated from Westfield State College, achieved his Master of Criminal Justice Degree from Anna Maria College, and Juris Doctor degree from New England School of Law.
Ed spent his early career as a part-time police officer for the Town of Lancaster and as a corrections officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts before venturing into the field of law. For the past thirty years, Atty. Sheridan has successfully provided legal counsel and guidance to countless clients from his law practice in Clinton. A proud lifelong Clintonian, he served his community in various charitable capacities, notably as “Himself,” the long-time Chief Leprechaun for the Leprechaun Society of Clinton, and through his dedicated works with the Knights of Columbus and Ancient order of Hibernians. Ed was a man of great faith and devout member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. Proud of his heritage, he lived and loved all things Irish and cherished his many adventures across the pond to visit with relatives and friends. Known for his quick Irish wit, Ed had an uncanny ability to tell stories and bring laughter to all occasions. He enjoyed cheering for his children and grandchildren at their many games, competitions, and special events, hosting and attending frequent family gatherings, and spending summer months at Seabrook Beach. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and Gramps.
