Doris A. Dravenstott, 93
Doris A. Dravenstott, 93 of Tavares, Florida formerly of Ashland, Ohio passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Florida.
She was born on July 27, 1931 in Clear creek Township, the daughter of the late Carl W. and A. Pearl (nee Moffett) Lautermilch.
Doris graduated from Savannah High School Class of 1949. She furthered her education and graduated in 1950 from Mansfield Business College where she was Co-Salutatorian.
She married the love of her life, Lloyd W. Dravenstott on June 12, 1954.
Doris was employed as a cashier for Western-Southern Life Insurance Company in her earlier years and moved on to work at Economy Savings and Loan for more than 22 years. Doris then worked as a receptionist for Florine Varner & Associates. She started her own business, A-1 answering and secretarial. Doris owned and operated her own business for 11 years prior to her retirement.
She was a former member of the Rowsburg Nazarene Church and attended Ashland Christian Church. Doris was a member of ASESIBA, where she held leadership positions for many years. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose and VFW#1067. Doris was always a woman with a tremendous amount of leadership, she proudly served on the board of her homeowners association for many years in Florida.
Throughout her life, she loved to travel.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Joyce Knapic, Jeff Dravenstott, Greg Dravenstott, Carol Stentz, Sherry Satterfield, Brenda Wahl, and Mark Griffith; and 65 great nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Lloyd, who passed away on May 8, 1986; one sister, Leota Griffith; two brothers-in-law, Marshall (Ruth) Dravenstott and Wilbur (Margaret) Dravenstott; her nephews and niece, Jim, Gary, and Brian Dravenstott, and Bonnie Griffith-Clayton; and her two dear friends, Lowell McClure and Leroy Faddis.
Interment services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in the Trinity Church Cemetery with Trudy Bates presiding. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crestview Education Foundation, class of 1949, P.O. Box 1701, Mansfield, Ohio 44901.
