With deep love and cherished memories, we remember the remarkable life of Donald Eugene Warren, who passed away on August 29, 2025, at the age of 79, in his beloved hometown of Henderson County, North Carolina. Born on March 15, 1946, also in Henderson County, Donald spent a lifetime building not just homes and businesses, but lasting relationships and enduring legacies.
Throughout his varied career as a skilled carpenter, car salesman, wholesaler, and the proud owner and operator of his own grading and septic tank business, Donald exemplified the values of hard work and integrity. He was a resident of North Carolina his entire life, moving from Etowah to Dana to Hendersonville, but never living outside of North Carolina.
Not simply a man defined by his work, Donald found joy and inspiration in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, often spending tranquil mornings in pursuit of game or casting lines with steadfast patience. His passion extended to horse riding, where he found freedom and companionship atop his cherished horse, Dream. His home was adorned with robust blueberry bushes that he proudly tended and nurtured, a testament to his love for nature. He was a man of strong faith, having served as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher, a song leader, and an ordained Baptist minister. Donald’s adventurous spirit was mirrored in his fondness for “wheeling and dealin’.” His expertise in trading trucks was legendary among friends and family, known for keeping the roads warm with his frequent drives, sometimes just “because.”
Above all, Donald was a devoted family man. For nearly 61 years, he shared a beautiful marriage with his loving wife, Pauline Watts Warren. Together, they built a family founded on love and support, including their daughter, Tracy Warren Green and her husband, Norman Rickman; son, Brian Eugene Warren and his wife, Nikki Case Warren, all of whom reside in Hendersonville. As a father and pawpaw, Donald’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Kayla Marie Warren, Bryson Nicole Warren, Madison Brooke Green, Tanner Chase Green, and Lacy Elizabeth Green, and great-grandchildren, Alivia Logan and Kannon Logan—all of whom brought immense light and happiness into his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dovie Warren Fisher Brown and Paul Warren, but is survived by a large, loving family, including his sisters, Joyce Bishop (Ronnie) of Hendersonville, and Brenda Qualls of Etowah; brother, Doug Everett Warren (Angie Hardin Warren) of Hendersonville. His family also includes nieces and nephew, Audrea Woodring, Tara Warren, Cheryl Owen, and Jonathan Bishop; cousin, Grover Jackson of Etowah; and numerous other cherished relatives and special friends.
In remembering Donald, we honor a life well-lived, full of warmth, laughter, generosity, and boundless energy. His legacy will be celebrated at a later date with a gathering of loved ones. The family invites those touched by Donald’s life to send flowers, cards, or memorials once services are announced.
May we each carry forward the profound and lasting impact of Donald Eugene Warren—a man whose spirit, love, and zest for life continue to inspire us all. Shuler Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
